Well you won't get substantiated views here . all the info is out there for any open minded person to peruse and make up their own minds . Or you keep taking in just what fits your narrative . Not sure how it is that most critical thinkers can view many opinions , facts from hundreds of sources debating and stating facts to support one side or the other and come up with their own opinions and feelings on the matter .

To come to a RV forum and expect the answers to the Covid sham for or against is asking a lot . All the FACTS are out there !

And I believe the countdown clock has begun------

Chris B. The issue with herd immunity and covid was that initially it appeared that most of the herd would be dead by the time natural resistance occurred. This was a new virus and researchers didn't have a clue what it was or how to stop it other then the standbys of social distancing and masks when they became available. Herd immunity is okay when we are talking about buffalos, but not so much when we are referring to human beings.

The other thing people are forgetting was that hospitals in cities were beyond capacity. There were no ICU beds during the height of the pandemic. That meant that people who suffered a heart attack or were in an auto accident had no place to go.

For those who keep talking about alternatives viewpoints by research epidemiologists, would you please give me some citations or links to university research sites where epidemiologists recommended not social distancing or wearing masks? My readings indicated that almost all experts agreed with the public health protocols that we went through.

The people who disagreed were mainly politicians who would do anything to get elected and talk show hosts. Sure, those protocols were a PITA, but what was the alternatives, do nothing? What we did do bought us time to study the virus and develop a vaccine.

It baffles me that this right wing rant is getting such traction.
Three pages - - and soon to go to four, apparently.
Sheesh.

It's been nearly three years and the people who "know" still don't know much conclusively about this virus or its origin. We're still in the chaos of sorting things out. As we learn more about it, precautions change. It's no big deal. It's normal. Not a conspiracy or incompetence.

I have Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia that has severely eroded my immune system. I follow the advice of my doctor who is a nationally recognized specialist. Vaccine, masking, social distancing, avoiding crowds and hand washing. Is it too much? I don't know for sure, but I haven't had so much as a sniffle in the past few years because of these precautions.

As to masks, I had to help out my sister with a ride after she hit a deer with her car. We spent close to four hours in the car together. I wore an N-95 mask and she wore a KN-95 mask. She tested positive less than 24 hours later. I didn't catch it. Dumb luck or precaution?

As to severity of the illness, what a crapshoot. Several people in my extended family have had COVID. Some hospitalized. Some at home miserable for a few days. My mother at 91 years old - a mild headache and a few sniffles.

I'll keep doing what I have been, derision, stink eye, and taunts notwithstanding. It's interesting to be judged when I'm in public. I don't care if others don't wear a mask, but many seem to care that I do. Go figure. I guess it's because it has become political.

I'm fairly certain this thread was created as a troll thread.
