Unfortunately this is true.... the DW's niece has it and now spread it to 8 people (that we know of) and still spreading....... Sadly her sister may pay the ultimate price for her stupidity.

Medical workers are wearing masks that are way more effective than pieces of cloth with a rubber band on it.
N-95 masks and the like are effective. The plain cloth crap most of us wear is only effective in keeping sneeze droplets from flying around. And it makes some people feel better.

The mask is to protect the people around you. Not to protect you. It is a common courtesy.

Sorry I can not change your mind and am not going to try. Facts mean nothing to someone who has made up their minds. I have to deal with this on a daily basis.
So many wish they could turn back the clocks. I hate talking and dealing with people and telling them that their loved ones are not coming home and why.
I have been dealing with respirators and employee safety for over 40 years. Do what you want I am saying as a Safety Professional masks are not the total answer but anything at this point is better than not doing anything.

Obviously the terms "protecting others" and "common courtesy" are beyond your comprehension.
Bye bye.

Every patient that I have seen do wear masks, other than the ones that have a ventilator tube stuck down their throats.

I am not trying to incite anything just attempting to educate. I am sorry if appears to be that. My wife is an RN and I am an OSHA inspector that are on the front lines of this pandemic. There is so much incorrect information out there.
Now I will be quiet.

Does it also state that, by not wearing a mask, you pose a much greater risk to everyone else than you do to yourself?

Because masks do little for the person wearing them. They reduce transmission out to everyone else.

FACT: No, the letter does not come even close to saying any such thing.
Draw whatever conclusions you will from that fact.
I am not getting into the argument regarding efficacy of masks. Please do not try to drag me into it. I am merely relating facts and my personal experience with having contracted the disease.

I don’t think your experienced and knowledgeable contributions to this discussion are the problem, so I hope you don’t bail out on this.
