My brain hurts

See if you can figure it out, because I can't any longer.

I was told directly by the rangers office - you can go disbursed camping on fed land in the fed forests. Now. Wherever you want.

Then there is this:

And this for a privately owned ?:

But you still can't go into a state forest rustic campground, fully self-reliant until ................... ???? ........... now listed in that link as June 9 ... but June 22 for the parks ???????

The Arctic wave is going to go away in the coming days

Clear as can be Federal Land is owned and regulated by the Federal Government not the State. The State has no authority over or on Federally Owned Land (ie US Federal Parks and US Forests) even though it is in the state. State laws and rules do not apply. Only Rangers, Federal Marshals other Federal Law Enforcement can make arrests on Federal Land, State Police, County Police do not have jurisdiction.

The State can regulate land owned by the state (ie State Parks) and privately owned lands.

Make sense now? Hope that helps.

Bottom line appears to be it is legal to camp on US Federal Owned land. But you can not camp on state or private owned land but.............. it may not be legal for you to drive to get to the Federal Land. ???
