Taking a cruise?

https://time.com/6131901/covid-19-cruise-ships/

Over 90 ships have outbreaks.

Cruises require fully vaxed and negative PCR to disembark.

You mean to tell me all people were vaxed , negative tests and I'll bet wearing masks . Guess the vaxed going after the unvaxed is a joke as it is with wearing masks and the test showing bad results all the time and the government scientist in charge is a real joke .

But run out and get that booster and wear 3 masks , stay at home lockdown , shut the economy down and we may get past this in a couple weeks . Cause we all know that a cold deadly death filled winter is coming for all the unvaxed . :roflb lack: sarcasm intended

My passage is booked for November. I am hoping things have improved by then. I only go once every 5 years for wedding anniversary. November trip is for the big 30th anniversary.

Hey everyone, lets all start ignoring the PhD doctors and scientists who spent years in school studying medicine and are researching the hell out of this start listening to people like this guy who probably do their "research" by scrolling thorough Google while on the toilet the morning after a trip to Taco Bell.

With the exception of 2020 the cruise ship industry is always big here in Alaska. Each year those ships bring hundreds of thousands of tourist from Asia, Europe, Africa and South America to our shores. They are floating Petri dishes. The Norovirus runs rampant on those ships, most likely due to poor hygiene on-board. In addition to Norovirus, we now see Covid running wild on those ships. Not my idea of a good vacation.

It depends on the cruise line too. I only travel on Cunard Lines, which is at the tippity top of the industry. Was never an outbreak any time I traveled with them. They were rigorous with hygiene even before the pestilence struck. Unfortunately the current Caribbean trip with the QM2 is being aborted. 10 onboard tested positive in December, despite required vaccinations and negative tests prior to embarkation. Anytime a vessel makes a port call, there is danger of something sneaking aboard. Especially in Caribbean countries where nobody is vaccinated (except Puerto Rico, hats off to that island. I guess it helps being a US territory).

Liz must have her angel wings by now putting up with you all those years. LOL. Congrats on your upcoming anniversary. Those years are milestones in this day and age.

.....and, what about the hundreds of thousands of americans that've died so far because they WEREN'T vaccinated, or the millions world wide? Sorry, the real numbers are not in favor of your argument, or is the scientific data collected thus far just all made up? I find it no laughing matter that I have family, friends and co-workers whom have either had serious, long lasting effects from catching this virus, or whom have died altogether from it.

Worldwide death toll from COVID is 5.44 MILLION. 30k from vaccine? If both numbers are correct, it's not hard to make an intelligent choice.

BTW, tried to Google VAARS, nothing came up relevant to COVID.

Thanks Larry, thanks Rmac! Anniversary not till Sep, if she doesn't kill me before then! Short RV trips are the key to our longevity I think!

Really? I never trusted antigen tests. I've only done lab testing, which is stupid too, because it takes a week to get results.

Sort of like closing the gate after all the cows got out...

I'd be willing to bet all of those home test kits have already been consumed. Our store shelves are empty of home test kits.
