They CANCELLED the 2021 Houston Rodeo
Today, they cancelled the Houston Rodeo for this year!
They had postponed it from March to May of this year, but now the next one will be in 2022. They cancelled it for 2021 because Covid 19 concerns meant that they didn't think it would be safe.

And yet this event, King Of The Hammers, is going on right now in Johnson Valley California? Who would think, this could happen in California and events in Texas and Utah are cancelled.

I really do not think there will be any events this year, You may have some with reduced attendance, but no full stadiums or state fair type of events.

State fair starts here in Florida at the middle of April. But don't worry, there will be signs posted asking people to social distance and wear masks. Currently only 8 people dying of covid every hour in the state

2nd year in a row of cancelled St. Patrick's Day parades. My bagpipes sit gathering dust.

last year there were about 50,000,000 flu cases. This year there about 1250 so far. It is hard to believe the numbers the government gives. I' am not saying that every death isn't a tragedy. But how much is truly Covid.

Most of our yearly spring events have been cancelled as we expected. We are still hoping our summer/fall events happen in some form. Mainly bowling tournaments and NASCAR.
But if things keep heading they way they are, guess we will just spend our time boondocking in the Gila NF with friends for weeks on end like we did last year. It was actually very nice and relaxing and we got our socialization needs met

The Covid safety precautions are likely the reason why flu cases are down so much. Wearing masks, staying inside, staying socially distant, etc...
I believe that Covid is much more contagious.

I just heard this morning that most music festivals scheduled for about the first half of 2021 around the country have been cancelled.
Everything we had planned last year was cancelled and it's starting to look like a repeat this year.

I agree most events will be cancelled. I'm always on the go. I go to all kinds of fairs and festivals anytime I get a chance but to be honest last year it was actually kind of nice not going anywhere. Did a lot of things at home that I always put off or started doing a project of some sort just because I could. One thing is I sure saved a ton of money. 😆

I should go there in a hazmat suit and set up a body bag kiosk. Brilliant.

It does kill people
The pic of all the people at that rally is disturbing. Most probably knew no one that got sick or died and if they did get sick it was mild. My Mom died from it and if others had friends or relatives that died maybe they would take it more serious. I agree with the person commenting about the lack of flee cases. We are not walking the hallways at work and kids aren’t in class to bring it home. I believe if more people had taken it serious we would all be back to a more normal by now.

You are probably correct
I didn’t think of that but you probably are correct. Thanks for giving me a better viewpoint of what was going on.

I saw that fact mentioned on the news about a month ago. All the covid precautions and lock downs are preventing the spread of influenza virus.
