I'll just make one comment.

It's so interesting to read posts from folks who have clearly been drinking the Fox News/One America et al. Kool-Aid. As a scientist who has spent his professional life attempting to gather and evaluate facts and evidence, and act accordingly, I find it very distressing that so many of our fellow citizens seem to be acting as if they were devotees of Jim Jones or David Koresh.

We have brains, people! Please consider using them.

Ok, now I'll have to start ducking...so be it.

This merely shows that CA residents, trying to escape CA have merely migrated north. Started back in the 60's.

Both of the two in their 80's never had Covid and both had Covid written on the death certificate as cause of death.

There is no doubt in my mind Covid is out there and its even killing some folks but there is also no doubt the numbers are BS.
Very interesting. When my wife died the Death Certificate was signed by her Doctor and I merely saw a copy when I was executing her estate.

From the net:

Quote:
Others who can sign a death certificate include a primary physician, an attending physician, a non-attending physician, a medical examiner, a nurse practitioner, a forensic pathologist or a coroner, but it varies according to state law. In Texas, for example, a justice of the peace can sign.
Wasn't able to find any state that requires or even allows next of kin to sign the Certificate.

It's very possible to see Covid-19 shown on a Death Certificate but not necessarily as the cause of death but a contributing factor.

Here's another report that shows where the main issues are in CA and a reasonable analysis of why:

Agreed.
I see many responses (not only here) where folks seem to have lost their ability to understand facts and weed out the BS. But, quick to want everyone to believe they are smarter than everyone else, they simply must not be listening to what is coming out of their own mouths while spreading absolute misinformation. What a sad outlook for our country. It's worse than a cult mentality.

Ask NJKris who is a member of this forum if he thinks Covid is merely hype. Thankfully he survived.

The fake news would have you believe otherwise but don't believe it and don't quote me their false statistics. Excuse me for venting but I didn't start this political rant on the virus.

Luckily the majority of the population appears to be taking things more seriously than a small minority (10%).

https://www.webmd.com/lung/news/2020...0-poll-finds#1

Isn't it that way with most everything, where only a small number of individuals are responsible for the majority of the problems.

Some refer to it as the 80/20 rule (although that's an approximation) where 80% of the problems, complaints, etc come from 20% of the people.

Numbers don't mean anything to people who do not want to deal with a problem. If it is an inconvenient fact they just call it fake. What possible reason, other than saving lives, could officials have for encouraging masks and distancing? I cannot see any reason why I should risk taking another persons life by refusing to wear a mask.
