Furrion Back-up Camera

Hello all

I just purchased a Furrion back-up camera since my trailer is pre-wired for that make. It was very easy install, basically plug and play and it seems to give a good picture.

I had assumed it would be wired into the trailer running lights, so you just turn your lights on when you want to use it, but, it is directly wired to 12 volts. So when the trailer is sitting there is always power to the camera, the blue light stays on constantly. I could just disconnect the battery, but when plugged into shore power at home it is constantly on.

Anyway, I wondered if anyone had this issue and tried to isolate the circuit that the camera power is wired to as it would be nice to put in a switch to be able to turn it off when not needed.

I don't have this issue as mine is wired to the running light, but could you just add a 12v wireless switch. I've seen them on amazon before and they're only about $20. It could possibly keep you from having to pull/trace wires in the RV.
