Here is the 28217, arrived yesterday.

I mounted the 28217 Spare Tire Carrier today.
I only had one mounting choice to mount it, and it was up front.
The Tire itself fit's up so high into the Belly of the Frame, that the tire would hit a Crossmember Steel Brace they have welded in between the Main Frame in the other two spots. I used Stainless Steel Bolts, Nylock Nuts, Flat Washers and Lock Washers. I also upgraded the Spare Tire to a 15" awhile back, and same name brand to match the tires that are on the TH itself. I took off the 14" Steel Wheels and Tires, and put 15" Aluminum Wheels on a few months ago.

Reading at the BAL website, the 28217 Arm (C) is 4.25" and the 28218 will be 11"

I will have to measure the spare tire very well before order it, because i dont have space in the belly.

Am I right?

Good work. I'm surprised it wouldn't have fit where I put mine....I dont have anything in the way there unless I'm forgetting something.

vdelgadillo, yes your right. The only place that the 28217 will fit properly is up front, behind the Tongue of the Trailer. In fact "one" of the bolts on each side for the spare tire carrier is actually behind where the tongue comes in from the front on an angle, and is welded to the main frame. You can get your hand up behind it to put the washers and the nut on it though. There is a "V" opening by the main frame to get up in there to do this. It does fit up in there really nice though, and has almost nothing hanging down toward the ground.

agpopp, it was real close to fitting there, but I needed about an inch and a half more for the tire to clear the brace that goes across, close to the floor.

Well, I guess you don't see what you're not looking for. Here's a pic of that small stiffener in the way of the tire carrier if you get the higher one.

Yes, and the next opening over has a flat steel brace just below the floor.

FYI, Discount Tire Direct is doing 100 bucks off a set of 4 on Endurance tires. I had an 80 dollar rebate when I got mine a few weeks back and they called me yesterday to credit back another 20. Thats good people right there.

Aw man! I just saw the sale was only till the 16th. You might be able to call and ask for it?

I believe they are worth it for 1 major reason if nothing else.....the 87 MPH speed rating. Trailer tires are all rated for 65 mph max otherwise.

I'm surprised to see that, and I wonder how they will hold up. They are still Chinese made right? The endurance are a few more bucks but for me made in the USA is a little extra piece of mind.

Yes, they are still China made, and they have a 6 year warranty from defects. I have almost 2,000 miles on them with that last trip I made to the lower Gulf of FL. I like the way they look, and I like the way they are wearing, nothing like the OEM Castle Rock's looked. I also went from 14's to 15's, so not sure if that made any difference.

I finished the SeeLevel Tank Monitor System 709 P3 project.

I am a little bit worried about the bottom part of the sensor on black and grey tank wont stick very well.. I tried to stick them with tape, but tanks were marking 25%, so for now they are without tape in the bottom part while I think of something else.

I cleaned really really well the tanks but maybe its the material. I mean, they are working great so far.... hehehehe

You wont believe how much I paid for my Endurance tires...!!! $84.75 in amazon.

They are year 2020..!! I was afraid to get some 2017 or some crazy stuff. I dont know if it was a mistake because now they are at almost $118.

GY are worth it.

I left the 4 chinese tires as spare for my other trailers, it was perfect because i have 4 for work....
