Thanks for the update!! I will have to check on that winterizing hose. I poured antifreeze in the holding tank and pumped it though the lines at the end of last season. I was going to get a kit for this year.

Yeah, definitely check for the hose. You don't want to run that pink stuff in the fresh tank if you don't have to.

I also forgot to mention by biggest issue on the trip. The refrigerator totally froze up. It seems the auto defrost function on the everchill 12v is not up to par. The fridge worked well, kept drinks easily cold and ice cream frozen for about 4 days then I noticed the temp creeping up and eventually hit 50.

There is a simple channel from the freezer to the fridge to share the cold air. When it froze I couldn't feel any air coming through. I took everything out of the freezer and removed the 2 screws in the upper corner. I'm an idiot and didn't take a pic, but the coils were completely covered in solid ice.
5 minutes with my wife's hair dryer and I was back in business. The water was able to run into a drip channel and I assume it runs out of a hose under the rig bit I didn't get a chance to verify that.
Other than the freezing issue it worked perfectly.

Now to add a dimmer switch to the awning, way too bright!

Dimmer switch is a great idea, it is too bright.
That's why I added an Amber Porch light.

I'm tired of the Battery going dead too while it's sitting, adding a Battery isolator shut off.

I also need a dimmer and battery cutoff switch. Where is the place to mount the cutoff switch?

I'm probably going to mount it right to the battery box itself, I'll take pictures when it's done.

Mine actually came with one from the factory. I could load a pic, its mounted on the frame where the tongue comes through.
I'm going to try to pit a dimmer in the extra blank switch cover on the control panel.

Maybe the RTX comes with one, and the RT does not, I'm not sure.
My isolation switch is due here on Monday, so I'll get it put on early this week.
Interested in the Dimmer when your done too.

Thanks

Battery Switch mounted.
I was all out of Clear silicone to seal off the top hole where cable comes out.

Do those screws on the corners go thru with nuts inside the battery box?

Yes, but they are isolated with a chunk of Plywood in between the box and battery.

Agpopp,

How are the kayak racks holding up? Might have to try that as we want to load them as you did, then drive the Harley trike in. Thought we may be able to fit both ATV’s in, (Polaris 550 Sportsman’s) but looks like we are about a foot short.
Anyone drive an ATV on the raised hump yet. If so does it cause any damage to the molding?

They worked perfectly! 2000 mile round trip and nothing moved. Easy to load, simple to store under the trailer, cheap, and I can load the boats and then ride the Street Glide in without ducking. I say try it out.

I then rolled out the rubber mat and decided on the HF bike chock after all. I played around with where everything can fit while on the road and had a few thoughts.
1) the fact that the cushions and table are not easily storable is a -1. It took up a lot of room that I had planned to put my bicycles next to the kitchen cabinets on my initial load up.
2) I'm not sure I'm going to be able to get the HD, 2 bikes and 2 kayaks in here unless.... I load the bike 1st. Then put 1 kayak on each side of the bike, put the bicycles next to the kitchen cabinets, then stack all of the cushions and totes along the ramp door.
3) I hope I can balance out some of the tongue weight with the Harley as I think its getting up there pretty good.

Any way, I'm leaving the kayaks out this trip as I think the water is too cold for us by now, but ill revisit this on the next trip...maybe in December to FL. Attachment 243364Attachment 243365Attachment 243366Attachment 243367

Can you tell me where you got the mat fire under your bike? Thanks

I picked up a rubber mat something like that on sale at Family Farm and Home or Tractor Supply or it may possibly have been a different one...I can't remember for sure. It was one of the farm supply stores. I think the one I got is a livestock stall mat.

Well after about a 4 1/2 year journey with another brand I am excited to say that Saturday I pick up my new 2020 Wildwood Midwest FSX260RT ! We sold our Wolf Pup and went just a bit bigger to a 2017 Kz Sporster 18TH. We had been trying for 3 years to make a winter Florida trip and it just kept getting postponed. We got to Florida Feb1 and got back to Michigan April 4th . One disaster after another. I purchased an new used 2015 GMC 2500HD and when we hit Florida I found I needed all new brakes at 2000.00 . I have touched base with the dealer who sold me the truck but I am pretty sure I am screwed . They actually got me at the GM dealer in Florida also. Totally lied about the brake system. While heading down I blew a trailer tire and the EPDM roof came loose on the front of the KZ requiring a 720.00 fix. Heading north on April 1st I lost another tire. 716.00 to discount tire for all new Goodyears. D rated. Was quite the experience but we still had a great time. 2 months and 3 days of rain ! Put a bunch of miles on the Harley . We did realize that although we had previously done a month stay in the little KZ in Maine and NY that we really need a bit more room . I found the midwest 260RT at a local dealer and he made me a deal I guess I couldnt refuse especially when he gave me more on trade than I had the KZ listed for !. Been reading the posts and looking at the mods everyone has done . Yep I have ideas . I will be doing the walk thru Saturday at noon and hope to bring it home with no issues. What really concerns me is the roofing as I have recently heard about bad roofs right from the factory and I have a friend that bought a TT and they had to re roof it and another friend with a KZ that the roof looks terrible but they say they can fix it. I will be getting on a ladder and checking mine before I sign off on the walk thru\walk around . Look forward to posting nothing but good things here about the new unit.
Dave

Congratulations on the new rig. I'm getting mine ready for the second summer and we had a great time with it last year. We've hauled the bike while camping to the smokies, South Carolina, Florida twice and Sturgis last year. Very stable and easy to tow behind the 2.7 F150 as I've mentioned in this thread before.
Good luck with it.
