2000 salem 24fb

First off thanks in advance. I just found this community.

So, We just bought this 2000 salem lite 24fb. Owners had no paper work, no title, nothing. We can't find the vin number anywhere. Where would it be stamped into the frame? The sticker is so faded if it was there it is gone. We don't know what to do. Please help

My salem vin number is stamped on frame under the propane bottles drivers side.
FYI.... why no title?

Its usually stamped on the street side of the frame. You might also look for a sticker on the outside of the trailer, inside of your door or in your cupboards. I've heard of everything from kitchen to bathroom vanity cupboards. Good luck.

Not trying to make you nervous, but are you sure about the previous owners? I would be nervous about buying a trailer that has no documentation.

Unless they can provide a title I'd walk away.

Money has changed hands.

Without a title, it might make a good deer blind though...
Getting it into the woods might be a "dark of the night thing."

Most likely stolen property.

So let me get this straight, you bought a vehicle that has a VIN number without a title or any paperwork and you're wondering if this might be stolen, and you think that there's something fishy about it. I'm sorry but sometimes things people do never cease to amaze me.

Vermont doesn't require titling or registration of campers.
I would, however, require a bill of sale from the previous owners. That's only common sense, IMHO.

No tags for campers? Curious...

How do you tag and title the unit then?

In Vermont, trailers UNDER 1500 pounds empty do not need to be registered or titled.

ALL others do.

Well, perhaps the OP will shed some light on the situation, then.
