2006 Salem LE 26FLS
Hey! Just got a 2006 Salem LE 26FLS. First weekend out in it now.
Didn't come with anode rod, so getting this this afternoon and then I should have confirmed all stock RV stuff works.
Looking for manuals or any documentation that might have come with this in 2006. Want to convert analog meters to digital, upgrade thermostat, add batteries and solar.
Seeing who else out there has something similar to mine and has started to upgrade and deck it out with some modern RV gear.

Welcome to the forum!
What kind of water heater? Some of them don't have anode rods.
Glad everything works. Manuals are best located on the appliance manufacturer's website using the model number. If you do a search of the forum, you'll find general information from people who've upgraded components, but it might not be specific to your rig.

It's a Suburban water heater.
Forrest River website doesn't go back to 2006. I've searched around, just wanted to start a general thread.
Thanks for the reply!

Those water heaters are usually steel and require an anode rod.
Even if you had manuals, they would just be general information. When we got our rig, the manuals for all the systems were those issued by the individual manufacturer's of the components...
If you have questions, someone here will be glad to try to help.

Open the outside access door to the water heater (louvered or has screen insets). Look for the model plate. If it is a Suburban, the plate may begin with SW... The manuals for these heaters are easy to find online. As mentioned, Suburbans have an anode rod. From the outside, it should be at the bottom center of the tank. Post a picture if you can't find it.

Yep! I got an anode rod and that got us to where the tank fills. Hot and Cold water confirmed.
For sure a Surburban. The labels are very warn, so I had to research the manufacturing city from what I could read!

Be glad the former owner removed the rod, or you might have gotten a unit with a cracked tank.

Lost Key
Due to stupidity on my part, I've lost the whole camper set of keys.
We have the 2008 Salem 26FLS made by Forrest River.
No idea what the key number is for the doors.
I have ordered the baggage key CH761 but need a locksmith for the door I guess.
Any suggestions?

The baggage doors are CH751, not CH761.
You could watch a few carefully-selected videos of The Lockpicking Lawyer, order one of the simpler toolsets, and pick the lock yourself. Then remove the lock and carry it into the locksmith. Cheaper than a house call.
Or you could simply tow the trailer to the locksmith's parking lot to save the house call.
