2012 Salem Ice Cabin
Hey All,
Brand new to the forum here, so if I'm posting to the wrong area, please let me know. I'm looking for anyone that might have a Owners Manual and/or a Replacement Parts list for a 2012 Salem Ice Cabin (T8X20SV Model). There are a few items that I'd like to replace soon, but not sure what parts numbers are needed. Here's a list of things that I'm looking to replace...
- 4 Gas Springs (Heidelberg) for the Upper Bed
- 2 Outdoor Flood Lights
- Stove Light (in the Hood above the stove)
- Side Door Stay (to keep the side door open
- Screen Door Stay (to lock the Screen door to the outer side door)
- Lights that can be mounted/hung under the Upper Bed (to have some more lights above the table in the back)
I think that's about all for now. I'm sure I'll have lots more as I become more familiar with it.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you,
Billy

The only manual for it is a generic owners manual with No model-specific nor brand-specific information.
There is no such thing as a Parts List.
All the things you've listed are not made by FR but by their suppliers. That's where you need to start.

Well, I’ve been up and down the internet trying to find information on the parts I mentioned above. What I really need is a recommendation on replacement Gas Springs for the upper bed.
Has anyone replaced them?
If so, what did you use and where did you find them?
Thank you,
Billy

Since I doubt if anyone here has an Ice Cabin, pics of them would help. And what do you mean by "upper bed"?

I number of years ago I had to replace the gas strut for the main door. As I vaguely recall, I searched on line using the information that was on the strut and with that then looked for a different brand that would hopefully last longer than the original.

Something like this might work. Screen shot. Can’t seem to get a link for you. rvpartshop.com

Gas springs
Check these out. Not sure how they attach. There’s more depending on weight you need to lift. Again this’s at rvpartshop.com. You probably can search amazon or some other RV part site.

Door holder
Door holder. Not sure what you need/want. We’ve stopped using our door holders on more than one rig. Seems like the wind just takes the door and the holder right out. Leaving another hole to fix. Probably not the best idea for the door but have used bungee cord to the stairs or frame.

They are kind of a neat idea. You can sit on the couch and drop your line in the water! More like a tiny house than a TT. My dealer says they're quite popular in WI, MN and ND, but not offered in all markets.

Thanks for all of your help, I think I found the gas springs, the stove hood light, and the 2 outside flood lights. Planning to look into the screen door latches soon. Much appreciated.
No one ice fishes here?

No one in our area does ice fishing because our lakes never freeze hard enough to get out on them. Occasionally we’ll be below freezing but never for very long. It just gets cold enough that we RV to warmer areas about end of November to end of April. We just got back from CA, AZ, TX trip for 4 1/2 months.

since they only were made for a year or two, we've only had one member here, who owned one.
and i haven't seen a post from him, for at least a year.
