2014 Salem Cruise Lite 262BHXL --on it's way!

Finally ordered our first travel trailer, arrival mid-June but praying it'll be sooner. We loved the 2nd entrance-exit in the rear bathroom, plus the extra wide double bunks made more sense to us vice 3 narrow ones.

Does anyone else have this model?

Any tips/advice greatly appreciated!

Already seeing how helpful this forum will be for us ;-)

That is a sweet layout! Looks like they have disco'd my layout, made a few changes (swapped dinette and sink/stove location, made both bunks double wide)!

Good luck with it.. We love our 261BHXL... Watch your tires.. had to replace mine this year (only 2 yrs old)

Congrats on your 2014 Salem Cruise Lite 262BHXL. Hope your wait time goes quickly. That 2nd entrance is going to keep alot of traffic and dirt out of the main living area.

I heard by getting a good cover for the trailer is a good idea, especially covers for the wheels helps with tire dry rot. With all the rain we've been getting here in South Carolina along with the intense sun, dry rot can be a big issue.

@Shorthorn: yea, we loved the new layout! We opted for the two wider bunks w/built in ladder instead of the narrow triple bunks. They may work for kids, but I don't friends or family members would be able to squeeze in there very comfortably. But loving the wood(like) floors, stainless steel appliances, and just the general design. No more cheesy floral pattern wallpaper or blue/wine colored sofas! I swear, it's bigger than an efficiency apartment I use to have in DC ;-)

We have a 2015, only have had it out three times so far. Layout is perfect for our family. Love the dedicated bunk house and not having to make beds out of the table and also the couch. We will be taking it on a trip to Yellowstone this year.

We just bought the same trailer and I'm so excited to start this new adventure! Is there storage in the benches of the dinette?

We are new to travel trailers and bought our first last year it is the 262 BHXL. Taken it out several times and love it. Haven't had any issues yet.
Had four kids and two adults stay in it the first trip out. We had plenty of room. With two kids and two adults it is perfect for our needs.
The storage under the couch works well for brooms and tools.
Yes there is storage under the dinette seats.
The only thing I would have done differently is add a black water flush system before it left the dealership.
Congrats and safe travels.

I tried to add it but was told by sales rep that it was not available on salem cruise lite. I did some research and found it's an easy fix with a Flush King. Google flush king and you will see how it works.

I appreciate that. I have one of the flush kings and it works well. I just figured an interior flushing system would work better.

Hate to admit it but I will say it before anyone else can. I am getting lazy as I get older.

We just purchased the 2016 model (hope to have it by next weekend). Going from a pup to a trailer is going to be HUGE for us...so much to learn! Glad to see everyone enjoying theirs and watch out...the questions will be rolling in from me!!

Yeah we were surprised as well. On the lot the tag said 2015 but the sales contract listed 2016. We asked about it and were told it was a 2016. Either way we are excited!!

Four more weeks until we pick ours up! Hopefully the snow will have melted by then and we can actually get to it. (When we bought it we had to climb through snow drifts that were a metre tall to see it. )

Pick up the trailer on Wednesday and we to a dry spot that very day. Stayed for five days! So much to learn. Does anyone know the size of the galley tank? Grey water as a whole is 65 but the galley tank filled pretty quickly. None of the manuals address the galley tank.
