The wife and myself just bought our first travel trailer. We were looking used but couldn't beat the price on this unit. We live up on Lake Erie so I can't pick it up till this snow melts. It's killing us.

There is so much information on this forum and I am trying to take it all in.

We added a low pressure has line and struts to the bed to make it easier to lift up.

If anyone has tips or tricks please let us know! Anything we should buy for the camper that we may not think of?

Congrats on your 2015 Salem 261BHXL. As far getting stuff for your camper, what do you already have?

White water hose
Water pressure regulator
Good quality sewer hose
Wheel chocks
A way to level it (Leveler blocks or pieces of wood)
Surge protector (highly recommended)
30AMP extension cord
Roof vent covers
Consider screening off fridge vents and vents for furnace and water heater
Spare fuses
Good basic selection of tools

Thanks for the list. I have everything except the roof vent covers. What do they do?

Our first trip is the first weekend in May. I can't wait. Didn't realize how much stuff the wife already has put in it.
