2018 $29900 vs 2017 $25500 - opinion please

Hey all

Found a pair of Heritage 272RL's with a price delta of roughly $4500 savings if I take the 2017. It's so lightly used you think it's new when you look at it.

What would you do ?

If you don't have a problem with the wear on the 2017, $4400 is a pretty good savings.

I did the same thing. I bought a “used” 2018 2509S that had been used twice for $4,500 less than what I could get a new one for. Extra bonus was he threw in A Curt trunion bar WD hitch and upgraded all the speakers in it to Alpines. I was happy with the savings.

Ive bought three campers at a discount that were last years model. Only time it will hurt is when you sell or trade in down the road. 2019 will be out soon.

Appreciate the comments. This rig basically looks unused so I did ok. Plus the dealer didn't screw around with junk fees, which goes a long way with me. I understand I can get the second year of warranty by sending a form in ?

You understood incorrectly.
Did the dealer tell you that, cause if he did, he's about a year late.

FR dropped the 2nd year factory warranty option, last June.

Correct.
Also the first year is also only available to the original owner.
Not transferable.

I bought a similar slightly used on my previous trailer. No warranty, but nothing happened that I couldn't repair myself.

Here's the simple logic. Either one is going to be worth the same 6 months from now. A hell of a lot less than whatever you pay for it, so go for the bargain.

I think you made a wise decision. The 2018 would be worth 4,500.00 less the second you drove it off the lot. I bought a 2013 Sunseeker late in 2014 used as a rental for about 1/2 MSRP with 18,000 miles I know you can usually knock about 20% off of MSRP right off the top buying new anyway, so I figure my net savings was 30%. You can fix a lot of things for that kind of money on the coach. Because I bought it direct from the dealership I got the remainder of the truck warranty. Even though it was a rental unit it was nearly impossible to tell it was used. They kept it well maintained with all the service and repair records. I've only bought one Brand new car and 1 RV brand new. I'm in my 60's so I've bought a few in my life and they where late in the model year with all the dealer incentives. I look for well maintained lease returns and take them to my mechanic for a complete inspection. Good move in my humble opinion. Enjoy your new rig.

Thanks all. We are going to pick up the new rig in a couple days. Bit of a haul at 1000 plus miles round trip but a good shake down. The weather is just now turning, but still cold to the point that I will leave it winterized.

Pictures to follow.

We bought ours new. Never had a problem. The small things that broke I just fixed myself. For $4500 id buy the used one. Never needed to use the warranty.
My neighbor also bought a new one. His in at the dealer all the time to get things fixed. Roll the dice. YO! 7

Funny you mention MSRP. Sitting just a couple miles from my house is a whole line of this exact same trailer, priced at like $45,000 (!) Nuts.
