2020 Salem Lite 171RBXL Refrigerator

Just purchased the Salem Lite 171RBXL and very new to RVing.
Trying to find if there is an on & off switch for the refrigerator.
If not how do you shut it off when not using it so you don't run the battery down? Would appreciate any help

What brand of fridge do you have? That’s what you need to identify....not the camper.
Some models have their control switches right up at the very top of the door frame of the freezer.

ON OFF switch may just be the temperature control dial -- if your fridge has one.

If this is a recent purchase you should have received a stack of material describing the care, maintenance and operation of all the appliances. If not, see your dealer for them.

If I recall correctly, there was some discussion on this a month ago or so. I believe that's the 12v compressor model that DOES NOT HAVE an on-off switch--just a control to adjust the amount of cooling.

Some of the posters talked about adding an on-off switch.

At the top right of any page you will see a place to enter search terms. Enter Everchill and I am sure you can find the discussion.

12 volt compressor fridge

we have a 2020 Salem 22RBS, There is a 15 Amp fuse for the fridge in the main fuse panel. I just pull that fuse when I do not want it running.

Above is a link to a article by Mike Sokole about the new 12 volt Danfass refrigeration compressor. There are 2 very good article on how much power is used by this type of refrigerator.

Hope this helps Tim

I believe that most FR products, that have a 12v ONLY compressor fridge, will have an Everchill 12v DC fridge.

My 2020, 22RBHL has an EverChill fridge and there is no on/off switch. I have a battery disconnect switch in the drivers side front storage compartment and it is the only way to keep the fridge from killing the battery when not connected to the truck or shore power.

We have the EverChill i believe and right next to the control knob inside the fridge is a button to push and hold and that turns the fridge on and off. Will go out there and take a picture when I have a minute.

Okay, made it out there sooner than I thought. See attached.
