263BHXL Slide in bad weather

My wife and I recently upgraded our Wildwood 19DBXL for the Salem Cruise Lite 263BHXL. We are relatively new to the lifestyle and this is the first time we have had a camper with a slideout. We are taking it out to a nearby campground for our second trip beginning this Thursday for a total of ten nights. The weather forecast looks a little stormy and uncertain for a good portion of the first weekend.

Is there any advice any of you have regarding the use of the slideout during heavy rain or a storm? Should we pull it in? We do not have a topper.

We never needed to pull in the slideout, on either of our trailers, for heavy rain.
