Access to Hot Water Tank

Hi, I have an REI 27, 2018. I am trying to find out how to get access to the hot water tank to winterize it? Does one have to crawl through the storage area or is there another access point.

I would think it is accessed under a bed/bench/couch or whatever is above. Like on mine, I have a futon couch that I lift the base up as if converting from couch to bed and I can take a few screws out of a plywood cover to expose the water heater assembly. That is where the valves are to isolate the tank. Take a look inside at whatever your floorplan has over it, you likely have a way in from there.

You access the valves under your bed. You lift the bed to find the panel that you remove. I used some "Google-Foo" ninja skills to find that.

I found a photo of the access panel on a new 2020 "version 2" model, but yours is likely the same as the water heater is still on that left front corner on this 2020. Lift your bed, the panel on the left side as your looking forward.
