Backup Camera

My new 2017 Salem Cruise Lite RBXL has backup camera prep. Has anyone I installed one? If so, do you find it useful when backing up? I'm still not very good at backing up...lol!

My RV came with rear camera and I could not live without it. Greatest thing since sliced bread. Love it on my car also. Edited to add my RV also has left and right turn cameras and I do not find them useful at all. In fact, I am trying to figure out how to disable them so my rear camera will not be interrupted during turn event.

Yes and yes. Installed a furrion observation camera on our prewired Windjammer 3008W. Works great for backing. At first I thought the screen was a little small, but works well.

more useful as a sanity check to be sure what is behind you. I would not want to use it as a guide for backing into a spot

Need to do some more research...called FR and got name of camera manufacturer...I will search for their website.
I have to figure out what wiring, if any, need to go to my 2006 F-150.

If your 150 has a "Cigar lighter outlet" that's all you need! Youroo!!

One of the best purchases to make life a little better and easier when backing up, not to mention seeing what's behind you when you want to change lanes.

My next question.....did buy your equipment from the source Forest River recommended or can I buy on Amazon? I saw a couple camera/monitor packages cheaper than the FR source.

I bought mine on Amazon, and if memory serves me correct, buying the unit with the extra case was Less expensive than buying just the camera.

Now remember this is from a person that his wife said everything looked backwards, well it did he had his front end of the truck looking at the trailer. Once he figured it out after an hour he turned his truck around and all was fine, TRUE STORY you can't make this stuff up.....
