Brand New Salem Hemisphere 356QB; Questions/Advice
All,
I purchased a 2021 Salem Hemisphere 356QB from RV Nation in early March 2020. We immediately took advantage of some social distancing via a trip to Gulf Shores (deserted campground and isolated). It's my first real trip, and I've uncovered a few issues/questions:
1. The oven does not seem to light. The stove burners do. I don't hear or smell gas getting to the oven, and the light function does not occur. Any ideas why the burners could be getting gas, but not the oven?
2. The pre-wired Furrion shark fin camera connection does not work. I get no power to the connection in the rear (yes, trailer harness hooked up and lights on). I do see a little "flicker" in the trailer lights when plugging a camera in. I may have to hard wire to the lights?
3. I'm not in love with how "deep" my awning extends in comparison with others I've seen. I'm considering adding one of those shade netting thingamajigs to mine. How do they attach? Is there some sort of special connection point on the end of the awning?

Congrats, we're picked up a2020 356 in July. For the stove the pilot light needs to be lit manually then it should work fine.
I had the same issue with pre-wired camera. Ended up connecting new power wire to lights. Easy fix.

Your awning tube has an aux slot that you can run the shade screen in. You might consider installing awning poles to keep everything in place once your setup.

How is it so far? I’m looking at this model. What are your thoughts?

I need an RV now!

You might get better responses by sending a PM to the member, instead of starting a new post, in numerous threads.

The oven can be a little hard to light and you will need on of those BBQ lighters to reach back to the pilot light. Make sure to turn knob to pilot and then push in and hold while igniting lighter and hold to pilot light. let bur for a bit be fore releaseing and turning to oven. Later RJD

Thanks for the replies. We've taken her on several more (socially distanced) trips. I was able to figure out the oven (user error by not pushing in on the knob to lite the pilot). Appreciate the info/suggestion on the awning. I also just wired a new interface for the camera to the running lights, but it's ridiculous to have to given the "pre-wired" claim.
Overall we are very pleased with the unit. There are several little things that need to be addressed by the dealer, but we're going to wait until the end of the season. Honestly, after looking at many units, it's the floorplan that sold us on the 356QB. We have grown kids and several grandkids. The bunk area and second bathroom are fantastic for us. No serious qualms really other than it's at the edge of my 2017 GMC 2500HD towing capacity. I've traveled 2k-3k miles with it though, and all is well. I may consider air-bags in the near future. Thanks for the info and replies.

New Salem Hemisphere Elite 36FL
We just purchased our new 5th Wheel and also have the same exact issue with the rear "pre-wired" camera. No power what so ever.

Did you turn on the running lights?
