Dometic refrigerator issues

Our 171rbxl is only 6 months old and we just took it out this past weekend for the first time since Thanksgiving. We had an issue with the fridge that has me baffled -- here is the time line:

On Tuesday evening hooked it up to shore power to start chilling down the fridge.

On Wednesday evening (full 24 hours in) it still wasn't chilled -- even a little.

On Thursday morning when we were getting ready to leave, it had cooled down to 50 degrees. I was thinking that when it switched to propane during the trip it would cool down even more (it usually does).

When we arrived at the CG, the temp hadn't changed much. Late Thursday evening we noticed the temperature was up to around 60. I tried turning it off and letting it sit for about 3 hours and then running it on just propane after that but by Friday morning it was 70 inside. So we had to start moving everything to the ice chests and turned the fridge completely off for the night. Early Saturday morning I turned it back on running on shore power (it was still 70) and let it sit. We went on a hike and when we returned 6 hours later, it had started working again and the temp was down to around 50 and by later that evening it was a nice 40 degrees.

To me this is not right .... but I have no clue why it started working. I will say here that on the Thursday morning when we left, the outside air temp was around 26 but I wouldn't think that should matter (or would it).

Has anyone had the same experience ? Was there something I did wrong ?

Well I do know the fridge operates on heat. If it is too cold out you my experience problems with the unit not able to get hot enough. I don't know if its your problem but something to check.

I understand that too ... but that Thursday afternoon and into Friday, the highs were well into the 60's and the lows were in the 50's. I would have thought that would have been warm enough for it to operate.

I would absolutely agree 50 degrees should not be a problem. I thought it was in 20's the entire time.

The only slide I know of is just supposed to help regulate the temp inside the fridge. But even the freezer section was warm. I was told the freezer temp could not be regulated
