Don't go just to look

Well after having our comfortable Cherokee 264L for a little over a year we stopped by a dealer "just to look" at some of the nicer bigger aka more expensive campers . Here it is 2 months later and dealing with too many dealers trying to decide between a Surveyor 33KRLOK and Hemisphere GLX 273RL we brought this home Saturday night

One of the most dangerous statements ever:
We just want to look around at what's new.

Thankfully the internet and you tube has made it easier "just to look" without the annoying and pesky saleperson around. I spent a year shopping and comparing TT's before narrowing it down to the Surveyor.

You violated the #1 rule of owning an RV. Never look at others.

Yes... the jealousy and Voyeurism of what is in the other campsite runs ramped... "honey why are you looking through the binoculars"? ....
"I think that the foot ball game is on, three campsites over..., just too dark to see what the score is..." "Put those things down and get me a soda, and they have one more slide out than we do...."

It's hard to just browse new RV's without seeing a bell or a whistle or something with a cool LED light gadget that your unit doesn't have that you would like to have or at least convince yourself that you need. Heck, it's just 60 payments of $512!

How did we ever camp without two digital TV's and a microwave?

I just work on adding LED lights to my unit and try to avert my eyes when an attractive woman or a new RV goes by....

It's safer.

60 payments? Every Brochure/AD that I get from Camping World/Gander RV in the fine print says.... 120 month (10 years) financing.... ouch...

I've never financed one so I was just guessing. I know it's a lot of money.

Been there. Done that. We are on our third camper in 4 years. We think..... or hope this is our last. Shoulda bought this 5er in the first place. As usual, my wife was right. She wanted a 5er at the beginning.

We never had any desire for camping or campers. My brother in-law gave us some free tickets to a local rv show. Those free tickets cost us $50,000. We sure are enjoying the new camper & truck though !!

Yep...that's how we brought home a new truck - the day before we picked up the trailer.

People often ask me what it costs to adopt a greyhound. Since we won't leave them at home, I tell them if you count both the and RAM Cumins turbo diesel dually to pull it and the Rockwood fifth wheel, then about $70,000 should get you started.
