FSX 161 QK TV mount

Trying to put a TV in my new 161 QK and the factory bracket is set too high for the TV to be slid down into it. I found a few videos that talk about a metal plate on the other side of the wall as a "backer" for TV's:

(chapter 3)
(chapter 2)

I'd like to either lower the bracket location but I'm not sure what's holding up that metal plate and I was wondering if anyone knew. I'm concerned that if I unscrew everything the metal plate the wall may be depending on those screws and fall down. I wouldn't expect that to happen but just wanted to check before resetting the bracket. One other option I was considering was installing a full-tilt swivel mount but I'm not sure if the mount will slide down into the factory bracket. Any suggestions?

Assuming your mounting plate has 4 screws I would move the bracket down to the lower screws and see if that gives you clearance to hang the TV. if that works now just install the two left over screws. that gives you at least two screws in the backer.
My new TV is much lighter than a TV just a few years old.
If this does not feel stable, add an over size plywood backer to spread the load and paint it wall color. DR

I just went over the wall with very strong magnets from my level and it didn't pick up anything. I have a feeling it's just plywood and nothing else. There are studs on either side so I may look into drilling into the stud assuming the TV can collapse to one side so it's not in the doorway.

I was able to remove the factory mount, locate a stud behind it, and put in a Perlegear Full Motion TV mount. Works great, tv's have full motion, and they stay secure in transit.
