Heater blowing cold

We have a 2020 Salem 26dbud and the heat started blowing cold overnight. Switched over to the second tank and still cold air and no stovetop. This was the first time switching to the second tank. We have hot water

Double check that the tank valve was turned on and the indicator is green on the switch over knob on the regulator.

Turn off the full tank (assuming you have a full tank) then turn it back on SLOWLY. Make sure the switch over valve is pointed at the full tank. It may take several attempts to light the stove top.

You may have hot water if you are connected to shore power and have the electric side of the water heater on.

Follow the advice given on opening the tank valve slowly, once one tank has run out. There are safety features built into the system and quickly opening a valve on a completely depleted system can inadvertently close the propane system down.

As mentioned, it can take several attempts to purge the line when running out of propane. You may even need to turn off the furnace (or even remove the fuse) for the control board to reset and allow the lighting cycle to begin again.

Do you have an automatic change-over regulator?
If so, you need to understand its operation and learn how it will switch over automatically to a full propane tank (keeping you warm) and alert you that one tank has gone empty, (indicator) avoiding all this hassle.
