Also there is no order who goes first.
I’m wondering if the flat cut in/out thermostats could be moved to a better location on the tank to get the water hotter in the tank. Closer to the bottom as heat rises?? Maybe certain tanks have them in different locations all I can say is I’m happy with the temp on mine.

There is no edit history for the original post. The system thinks it has not been modified.

Mr Dan is right. See attached, page 2. I'm betting you have Option 2a, 2b, 3a or 3b. It would be pretty difficult to winterize without a bypass, unless you filled the water heater with antifreeze.

Well we tried leaving propane on and still got cold. But we can leave hot side on and it stays hot. So that leads me to believe that the water isnt mixing. Like it was prior to getting my trailer. Cant remember but i think this is the correct way for my system.

That's correct. To winterize, rotate both valve handles so they are aligned with the white bypass line.

How long does your hot water heater last shower (minutes)?
Thanks i am still not sure why it’s getting cold quickly? I know both electric and propane works since i tested them out individually. After getting the valves right way prior to all this (i think i did that on day 2 of ownership)

Anyway i guess since me and my girlfriend takes different length of showers it got cold on her with in 6min or so. That was on electric only. So i kicked it on propane and still no change. I don’t recall using the hot water prior to.
I never had this problem since i run electric only and 99% of the time is 5min. And I know it works.

I don't know where you're getting the 18 gal figure. Any such figure would need to include an assumed flowrate and minimum temperature.
You might want to get a milk jug and measure your flow rate; then you get get an idea of how long it might last. Assuming you're using about 1-1/2 gal/min, your water heater is going to run out at 4 min, ignoring any cold water coming in and mixing with what's going out. With electric and gas on, you MIGHT get another minute out of it.
Getting 6 min implies your flowrate may be closer to 1gpm than 1-1/2gpm, but it's still going to get cool fairly quickly.
Teach your GF to take Navy showers.
Another option: Assuming you have a Suburban, it comes with 130 deg F thermostats. You could replace them with 140 deg F thermostats. See Post #7 here:

We solved this problem by adding an on demand water heater in addition to the factory gas only HWH on our old Starcraft. We are waiting on delivery of the new Rockwood, and will have to test the HWH capacity before we consider modifying the new TT with an on demand.

One of the great things about a tankless hot water heater is NO MORE NAVY SHOWERS.

Could a tankless system be added in place of mine?

You better always have hookups, to make a tankless WH worth it.
We dry camp nearly all the time, so a tankless isn't worth it to us.

Disagree. We drycamp 80% of the time. Definitely prefer tankless.

How do you deal with all the gray water generated?
