My new T22rks is Home!

Finally got to pick up my new T22rks today. Had a good experience at Colfax, CA, at the Sierra RV dealer. Since I bought an Equalizer 4PT WD system, the tech and I worked together to get it installed. The ride home with my also new Tundra was great. Can't wait to load my stuff tomorrow, and work on getting the Salem ready to camp. Want to try the Salem out soon, but worried about the low temps. Was thinking of going up to Jackson Rancheria for the break in. Not sure about the cold temps though.

Congrats on the new toys! Feel free to post some pictures. Where in CA is Colfax located?

Must say that you have great taste. Have fun with your new Tundra and Salem!

Colfax is off of I-80, east of Auburn and Sacramento, in the Sierra foothills.
it's in a great location, lots of trees but not high enough for much snow.

Checkout Trip

I took the Salem out this week for the checkout trip. Took my time with all the setups and enjoyed having the trailer. Went to the Feather Falls KOA at the Feather Falls casino in Oroville, CA. Great KOA, good level sites, plenty of space between, good hookups. Spotless place. Everything works! Well, except a couple of drawers in the kitchen, which I didn't catch on the pdi. Seems the draw slides are screwed to a piece of OSB board in the back, and then just lightly tacked with nails to the wall. Most of the nails barely penetrated the wall surface, so the drawers teetered when opened. Actually was disappointed with the lack of cabinet craftsmanship. I will have to work some woodworking magic, since I think the dealer will probably just put extra 'tacks' in them. Oh well, a new toy to play with. Planning the second trip tonight.

Congratulations on the new toy. It appears that you are already enjoying it. I used to camp in the mountains of California when I was a small boy. While you are going over your TT, crawl underneath and check your wiring and give it a look. I just purchased a 2009 Puma 25RS, used and in very good condition. I was looking at my tanks and noticed a wire bundle that was laying on a metal brace to the dump valves. The tape they used had come undone and let it fall down. On the drawers, used to have one in my Pop up that came loose when I would hit these speed bumps at a state park here. I got so I took the other way around when I exited it. Have fun...I am also retired.
