No place for a DVD player?
2021 Salem 30KQBSS
There is simply not enough room for any DVD player made, that I can fine. The space where I could put a DVD player is wide but only 7" deep. Any suggestions for a DVD/Blu-Ray player that will fit in a narrow 7" space. Don't suggestion vehicle players or face mount because there is no place for that either.
This is the only picture I can find online. There is a space above the fireplace and below the "shelf". The room behind the doors on the left and right is the same issue.

My TT has very little room for a DVD player other than sitting in a corner of the kitchen counter under the TV. I just hook it up with an HDMI cable, plug it in, and when movie is over I disconnect and store in the bottom of one of the bedside wardrobes.
For me I don't care if it's permanently situated as it takes about 30 seconds to disconnect and store. The HDMI cable itself gets hung up on the TV mount for the next "movie night".

That's what we were doing, until I found this shelf on Amazon.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I mounted it so that the shelf sits above the TV, and we put the DVD player up there when we set up. Since we usually go somewhere for 1-2 weeks at a time, we are not having to mess with it a lot. The empty shelf rides just fine down the road.

We have a Sony BDP S1700. The actual measurements are 9"W x 7 3/8"deep x 1.5"H and it is Blu-Ray. We have it on a 8" deep shelf held down with strong velcro.
I know the size it says on Amazon is different, but I just measured my unit. Maybe the size on Amazon is in the box?

We installed a BDP6500 Sony on the shelf under the TV with Velcro. It has Blue Ray and is smart TV capable similar to Roku. It also has a USB port that is MP4 capable. They are only about 75 bucks at Walmart. We've had this one awhile so the Model number may have changed, but it is only between 7 and 8 inches deep, and about 10-11 inches long. The TV bracket holds the TV about 3 inches off of the shelf, and this unit fits nicely under it. Can't tell from your picture what your shelf looks like, but this unit may work for you. Our Crusader came with a 2 dollar DVD. Wasn't worth the Velcro it took to stick it down so we replaced it with one of these.

Thanks for all the suggestions. Has to be Blu-Ray because we have both Blu-Ray and regular DVD. I think the shelf is the ticket.

Can you find a small one that can be used vertically and attached to the rear of your TV with velcro and/or zip ties? We did that with our cable box at home. The only issue is that you need one with an RF remote that doesn't require line of site.

Here's the "super velcro" we use:

It's the same stuff that holds your EZ Pass transponder to the windshield.

My research for vertical use showed that most if not all would not work oriented that way. The comment was that there was nothing to secure the disc and it would slide out and jam inside the unit.

We also used these 90 degree HDMI plugs to save an inch or so>

I tracked down the online manuals for 2 of the players recommended and both said the unit must be flat, not vertical or inclined to play.

Go onto Amazon and look at the over TV shelves that are available. I have three of them and they are excellent if you stay within the weight limits that the manufacturer specifies. Quick and easy to set up and take down. They are totally supported and adapt to your television. Here is an example:

There are others.....

My husband installed a flip up/down shelf above fire place for that exact reason. Does not affect airflow of fireplace in the least. Wish I could provide pics but RV is at seasonal site, 4 hrs from my current location, and tucked away for winter. Shelf is definitely an asset for DVD player and comes in handy for other uses.
Good luck
