Poor workmanship
This is how you get mice and snakes in you NEW 2020 Forest River Salem FSX toy hauler.. Very disapointed in the quality of workmanship compared to the cost. We had a 2000 Sunliner with zero of these issues. What happened to being proud of what you do?

100% agree! My 2021 Salem 26DBUD looks like it was slapped together as fast as possible and shipped out the door on a Friday afternoon.
Laundry list of deficiencies!

welcome to the forum its a great place to get your questions answered. The RV industry is not the auto industry and they are assembled as fast as possible with minimum attention to detail when it comes to things like holes for lines. That in my opinion is the main reason for the underbelly covering to speed assembly by not being exact and hide it from view. JMHO

We had 4 like that on our new 26BHHL. The dealer dealt with 3 of them, and I caught the one behind the power converter when I was doing a surge protector. Maybe all they buy are 6" holesaws?

I found an unburned cigarette and a food wrapper in my 290RL front basement area behind the divider panels. Lots of extra screws and pex parts as well.

We are new owners of a 2021 Forest River 18' Wildwood. First we want thank those who have posted their experience with the lack of workmanship on their RV's. We have only had our trailer home for week so we haven't seen all the things that may be wrong but we have found evidence of the lack of quality control; shavings in the bottom cabinets and behind access panels; screws missing from access panels; drawer dividers not square with the drawer. Today while looking around the outside of the trailer we noticed some sheet metal around the wheel well trimming that looked like someone had used a can opener to do the trimming. We will attempt to file the sharp edges and cover with some thick tape to prevent someone from getting a nasty cut.
All this is very disappointing when we expect "Made in USA" to mean excellent quality.

So do you blame the company or the workers? Seems to me it's a worker problem when you find hacked out holes, 20# of sawdust and junk left inside compartments, and sloppy installation of components just to name a few.

I believe so. That's what the factory uses, looks like they just missed this one.

I found a cigarette up front where all the wires and hoses meet up in my basement. I’m going to blame that on the worker.

I’d blame this on the company. If management sets a production schedule, and that schedule is so tight that it requires the employees to cut corners in order meet the management’s throughput goals, then that is a company problem.
I saw it all the time in the equipment service job I did for 39+ years. The vast majority of employees sincerely wanted to do high quality, complete work, but with the profit motivated workload and time constraints management placed on the employees, the only way the employees could keep up was to do sloppy half-done tasks and quickly move on to the next task. If the employee took the time to do good quality work, he/she was reprimanded for not keeping up with their assigned workload.
I highly suspect that the recreational vehicle industry’s quality problems are largely caused by the management, not the factory workers.
