Queen bed length 27rkss

Good day everyone,

My trailer is about an hour away from me but I am trying to order a new queen mattress but not sure of the length, I am thinking it's shorter than normal. Would someone be so kind as to measure theirs and let me know please.

Thank you in advance.

Thank you guys. I prefer memory foam. Thinking about getting an 8 inch memory foam mattress.

I changed the plywood platform with a good quality 1/2 inch plywood to give me a full 80" queen size mattress. I bought a memory foam and trimmed the lower ears with an electric knife to round out the corners.

Do you still have enough walk room in front of the bed?

Plenty of room, you only lose 8". If you plan on doing this get a good quality plywood not a cheap luan. I used baltic birch which comes in 60 x 60 inches.

You might want to try checking with the dealer or the company about the dimensions. Most of the units I've seen have queen-width, full-length mattresses--from your description, that probably is what you have. In our travel trailer, the bed is in an exact-fitting slide and a queen-length mattress would NOT fit with the slide closed; it would jam up between the wall of the slide and wardrobe cupboards on the opposite side, and something would wind up smashed/broken.

I did just that and they told it's 75 inches.

Yup, that's usually called either a short queen or a trailer (or RV) queen. It's what we have. It's also the size found in many "hide-a-bed" type couches.

In the 27RKSS there is no slide in the bedroom, the bed is fore and aft with approx 2.5 ft of room at the foot of the bed.

If I can get a short mattress I will...I don't want to lose any room in the bedroom.

Forest River 27rkss

We have a 2016 Forest River 27rkss that we love. We had our bedroom bed upgraded to a king and we did loose the left side but we gained a great night sleep. We up graded the bed struts from the 60-80 lb each to the 120 lb ones and this helped with the mattress, We updated the lights to led and put electric dump valves on it putting the switch in the scuttle area on Lh side or same side as the hook up. We had to make a step to get in and out of bed but wife is 4'9" so would have done that anyway. We made a grill swing on rear bumper so we have our grill with a 20lb tank when we camp. Installed the under camper spare tire holder and did modify it to hold 2 spares. We changed the tires to Carlisle radial 205/75/15 right after I brought it home. Sever 1000 mile trips with no issue. We did upgrade to the best thy had at the time, WQe have made this a home on wheels for two older retired people and as stated we love it

Congrats! We just traded our 27RKSS in on a new Cardinal 5th wheel but have nothing but fond memories of the last 3 years of our beloved Wildwood. Hope it brings you years of enjoyment.
