Salem 30FKBS Propane detector

We have a 2010 Salem 30 FKBS currently parked in a trailer park for the last 3 seasons. We have been using the propane to heat our water more this year than previous years and have now just started using the furnace for those chilly nights. The propane detector which is on the lower cabinet panel in the kitchen has been going off every so often. About a month ago it went off during the day, i opened the doors and windows, got a fan to circulate the air(i had no idea what else to do) and i finally got it to reset after pushing the button 3 times throughout a 15 minute or so time frame. That same weekend it went off at 3am, and it would finally reset after 3 pushes of the button in about a 15 minute time frame. We had 3 people over sleping in the living room bed & kitchen table so not sure if that made any difference or anything. This past weekend,(only 2 people in the bedroom) it went off again during the night, about 330am. Again, it took 3 pushes of the button to reset, we had to turn the furnace off as we didnt want it going off again. We turned the furnace back on in the morning and once again the propane detector sounded once again. We have no idea why its going off, the only thing i can think off are fumes maybee blowing into the trailer from the exhaust outside?? But this never used to happen until this year. We need heat for the rest of the season but dont feel like being woken up during the middle of the night

Any thoughts on this?

Buy a new detector.
there supposed to be replaced every so many years anyway.

If it does need to be replaced, is it difficult to do? I think this one is hardwired

No not hard at all .
Unscrew from wall then the wires should have wire nuts on it . Mine did.
Swap wire for wire .

It is hot wired DC so you should unplug the camper from shore power and take one wire off the battery (does not matter which one) just in case you short out the two wires making the swap.

Finding some of these inline "dog and cat" fuse holders can be quite challenging so no sense making the job harder than it needs to be.

Propane detectors do need to be replaced every so often but a 2010 should still be OK. Here is the manual for mine and it has some troubleshooting steps you might try on yours before you buy a new one.

Yes I forgot the obvious unplugging a.c. power and disconnecting battery.
In the past there's been newer units having bad detectors within the first year.

I don't believe there any GOOD way to distinguish wether it's faulty or not other than trouble shooting.
