salem hemisphere 356qbq

I was packing my fifth wheel to leave for the weekend and went to run in my slides and retract my awning when none of those buttons would work. Was getting really worried until I remembered to try the remote. The remote worked but my slide and awning buttons still wont work on the wall of the rv. Anyone have any ideas???

I'd check fuses or a breaker to the main control panel. I blew the fuse on my landing gear and the switch wouldn't work but the remote did on my 356qbq.

We had the same problem with our 346QBUD. The fuse would keep blowing when the battery level was low. When your batteries are low the motors will draw higher amperage and cause the fuse to blow. Check your fuses. Good luck.

I use a Ram 3500 dually. It pulls great. It's a 42' 5er, so it's not small. Some pull them with SRW trucks, just not my preference. I have the twin to this 5er, the Heritage Glen version.

That camper looks like a GVWR of around 14K lbs and loaded hitch weight will be over 2K lbs...appears it'll be over your trucks calculated weight numbers but more importantly for me, I'd question if the 6.0 engine can handle moving that weight once you start hill climbing?
IMO...If I was traveling mostly flat roads and camping relatively close to home...I would tow it, otherwise, I'd want a beefier engine/trans/suspension package truck.

Same here...I see bigger campers with less truck everyday...it's all on what you are comfortable with...don't get caught up on the listed "Dry Weights & Unloaded Pin Weight" that you listed.
All those numbers go up as you fill the propane tanks, load camper with all your supplies and any liquids in holding tanks that you may carry...weights add up fast!

BTW...I had an '09 GMC with 6.0 engine once towing a loaded 9500lb travel trailer...was not impressed with engine with that load as soon as I left flatland...can't imagine that same truck with 11-12K lbs

I don't know why it's a "lite" model. It's not that light at all. When I bought mine, I weighed it right from the dealer with no load, it was right at 11,500 ish empty. Loaded I'm probably 12,5-13k. Pin weight was right about 2k on the nose unloaded.

Great real world weights for Fifth Wheel Joy to consider...

I pull mine with an 08 ford f350 dually with 4:10 gears. It pulls with ease and I hardly know its behind me. I dont think u would have much trouble pulling this fifth wheel with a 3/4 ton or a single wheel axle unless u were in the mountains a lot. Only reason I got a dually is because my truck isn't my daily driver so I wanted a dually so I could pull anything.

Tow our 346qbud with GMC Denali 3500hd duramax diesel with Allison transmission, SRW standard bed. Tows like a dream! No probs. updated from Chevy Siverado 2500hd SRW standard bed. Wanted to make sure hills wouldn't be a problem.

Help! Have no power to our landing gear in 5th wheel 346qbud Salem Hemisphere. Can't unhitch trailer from truck without it. We checked all GFI and reset. Checked and reset all circuit breakers in panel below fridge and checked inline breaker in battery compartment. Trailer is plugged in to house power and everything in trailer works except for landing gear. Anybody have any other ideas?

Ok. Found it! And for any one interested the fuse is a 30 AMP and is located in the front compartment in the middle over the compartment door frame. Hope that makes sense to any who have to find it.

I had the same issue with my 346QBUD but if you have a remote for the slides and landing gear, the remote will work. (Or it did for mine). I am still having an issue with my fuse blowing when I use the switch but no issue when I use the remote.
