Slide topper

I have a 2021 salem 240bhxl. Looks like the rain gutter rail has a slot for the slide topper fabric to slide in. Can this be used instead of mounting the new rail? The 240bhxl came "topper prepped". Thanks for any info.

You could post a picture for us to look at to confirm. but my guess is yes. I installed my slide topper this morning and the instructions mentioned that some models could use the built in slot without installing their rail.

YES YES YES! I made the mistake of not noticing that when I put mine on! So after drilling 65 freakin screws through the side of a brand new trailer, and mounting the rail with sticky butyl tape and said screws, putting the topper on, adjusting, standing back drinking a beer, admiring my work, I see this little slot on the bottom of the drip rail! “Wait, what is that? It better not be...NOOOO You dumb $&@&@$&!!!!” A few shakes of the head and a few more choice words...All good though!
