Slide will not go out

Hello, new user here and I’m having an issue with my 2021 Salem FSX. I’ve tried everything I can think of but the slide will not go out. Could someone direct me which forum to go to for such questions? Thanks in advance.

Well, you need to determine what slide system you have.
If you posted what model number your Salem is, it might get you help from others that own the same model as yours.or put that information in your profile or signature.

Need more info to help diagnose. Any noises? Unit level? Shore power/battery power? Can you access the controller? (Prob mounted to wall in farthest corner of the camper next to slide)



I had issues with my 2022 FSX. I went to Forest River main website & downloaded the owners manual thru owners tab.


Another great resource is YouTube. Lots of videos that help me solve my issue. Your type of slide is a Lippert/Schwintek slide.

Motors hum, unit dead level, hooked to shore power. The controller was conveniently mounted under the slide so that was super fun. And yes, it’s the Schwintek garbage. Something seems wrong with the bottom gear set on that side at this point.
