Speakers buzzing

We recently bought a 2002 Salem 29RLSS. Except that the carpet needs a little cleaning you would think it was new. The last owner really took great care of it. I have only one issue with it. Other than this everything works perfectly. It has a Concertone RV2000TV stereo. The stereo has a switch for A,A+B, or B speakers. When the switch is in the A or A+B position there is a slight buzzing sound in the large bass speaker and 2 of the small speakers when the stereo is turned off. These are the A speakers I guess. This leads me to think that there is power to those speakers even though the unit is turned off. Also the orange panel on the front of the stereo, that lights up when you turn the unit on, is lit dimly even when the unit is turned off. Any ideas? Could that be caused by the 30 amp outlet at the park having reversed polarity? I checked the outlet with my multimeter and looking at the outlet the upper left connection is the hot wire. Is that as it should be?

Here is wiring diagram for 30 amp receptacle. As you describe it, it would be reverse polarity. Also if you don't have already, it would be good to get a receptacle tester.

and the ultimate protection would be a Progressive Industries EMS....

my question is still, would that make these speakers buzz ? And if so why only the "A" speakers. We have also discovered that if you turn a light on or off there is a little popping noise in the speakers.

I wouldn't think that would be the source of the buzz. You could eliminate that possibility by operating the stereo on 12 v only with the unit unplugged from the AC.

My guess is that you have a bad ground shield somewhere.

If you can try disconnecting the subwoofer and see if the buzzing stops. Most subs are power amplified. I've had them creat buzzing noises In other speakers.
