Tire pressure

I am putting my camper away for the year if the tire pressure should be 50psi should I fill it to 50 or should I full it more for the winter?

Mine calls for 65psi. I put it 65psi and just check it when I pick it up. It doesn't lose much, maybe 2 lbs. Some have nitrogen filled (green cap) and shouldn't lose any. I just put it what it calls for no more and just check it when you pick it up to tow it home. It should not go flat over winter. If it does you have a leak. My camper is stored indoors, but not a heated shed. You never want to put more in it then what the tire is rated for.

Tire pressure

Somebody on here posted a link to a Goodyear article, regarding tire storage. When they are mounted on a vehicle and carrying weight, they encouraged inflating them about 10psi above normal, IIRC. Just make sure to deflate them to normal, before hitting the road again

I just read the same thing in a doityourselfrv.com article:

“Tire protection

The cold can wreak havoc on your RV tires. Tire care should be a consideration for everyone when RV winterizing. Most tire manufacturers recommend increasing the tire pressure when in storage and/or removing weight on the tires.

You can pump the air pressure up to the sidewall maximum, or even up to 10 psi over, and you can use jacks to partially lift the RV frame to reduce the weight on the tires.”
