Tire storage

How does everyone store their tires? Is there a benefit to getting them off the ground? What about letting pressure out? Do I need to have something between tire and ground?

Thoughts?

My Roo is on asphalt so not worried about it. If it was cement, I would have a barrier to prevent the deteriorating effect from I believe the lime.

When my trailer is in the storage lot, I place a 2x8-6 feet long under each set of tires, regardless of surface. The tires are than covered with a wheel cover to help prevent the rubber from deteriorating due to UV light from the sun. I also use tire dressings for RV tires made by Meguiar's.

By doing this I was able to get 5 years use out of my factory tires before replacing them.
