Tv mount bolt length

I am going to be mounting a TV in my back bedroom. Does anyone know how long of bolts I should use? I am worried about going through to the outside.

The wall is going to be about 1½" thick so I agree with Seadog, nothing longer than 1¼" and probably closer to 1".

Is there a "tv backer" sticker on that wall?

What he said:-)

Also, I would not mount to an exterior wall. Unless, you have a factory installed "backer". Even if their is a sticker. Verify with a stud finder.

If your not sure of what is in the wall and you mount it anyway. Remove TV before traveling.

we used 1 inch with lock washers the bracket is going to reduce the length of the wall depth for entry. I also predrilled a hole so the wood would not create a small hump in the wall paneling as well (not that you would see it behind the TV.)

I used what came with the mount but since there was a window underneath, I backed a screw out that held the valence in place and verified it was longer than what I had.

I think I predrilled one hole in attempts to find the backer near the sticker, and I could never locate anything with the stud finder. In the end I used that hole and self tapped the other without the hole and didn’t have any humps that I remember. I may have drilled a small pilot for each, but I wanted the screws to bite.

It has held up with no issues over a few long trips, with bumps along the way, not just smooth road. But my entire setup with the mount weighs less than 10 pounds, so that might have something to do with it. I think it’s like 7-8 pounds total. It’s a smaller flatscreen.

The Lamilux bedroom wall on my tt is barely thick enough for a 1.25 inch screw. Use self drilling self taping 1/2" or 3/4" screws as the backer plate is aluminum. And don't ask how I know the slideout wall is 1.25 inches thick.

2021 Salem SFX BH177 TV mount

Can someone suggest a TV mount? Also, there is a TV mount sticker on wall just as you enter camper to the right next to bed. Any idea how large the area is behind the interior wall for mounting? A suggestion on which size TV would also be helpful. Thanks in advance.

I like the MD TV Mount (Mounting Dream) - Lockable RV Mount I found on Amazon.

It was easy to mount, came with a lot of hardware for different applications, works well, feels like quality and it my case, it was very light.

Since I am (and was) unsure of the placement of the sticker and found no help with the stud finder, I just picked a spot around the sticker and went for it. My entire setup (24 inch flatscreen) and mount weighs about 10 lbs or less, and it has held up well since the install.

I have a different trailer than you so yours may vary. But I like the mount!

Thanks.

Does anyone know if a detachable mount is made to remove the TV from wall while in transit?
