Vent covers with fan

I ordered two of the vent covers below from Amazon that arrived today for my 195bh. I have previously installed a Vortex II fan in the bathroom vent. While both of these covers seem to fit fine the instructions say not to use with a vent that has a powered fan, but to use one allowing more air circulation.

I don't really want to return one. Wondering if anyone has these covers over a fan, or the company is just saying that to get you to purchase a more expensive cover?

You might lose a little flow on the highest setting but they will still work. The reason they say not to use on a powered vent is so you will buy there more expensive version.

I have one of those over my bathroom fan and they are fine for small fans, just not recommended for higher powered fans.

The Vortex II fan I installed is a 6 speed fan, so I'm assuming it's high powered

Agreed. I think one of the biggest issues restricting flow, is how high the lid opens. You may try dropping one over and raise the lid to see...

Have used a Max Aire vent cover for 4 yrs on our bathroom vent fan with no adverse effects. Only problem is you can't open the vent wide open, but it still exhausts just fine.

Did my own little test of airflow with the fan on and the vent cover on versus off. Honestly I couldn't tell any different so I just installed both.

The MAXAIR II (different shape than standard MAXAIR) cover allows for more flow and that is what I installed. No issues with my "high power" fans. The cost is a little more than standard MAXAIR.

Maxair II is what I used on the back,,, but it looked to me that the Fantastic Fan cover still allowed more air flow ???
