Winterizing question

Drained my water heater. Do I leave the anode rod / cap out for the winter or put back in???

I put mine back in as so does many others. Be sure to put teflon plumbing tape on first.

I put mine back in to keep bugs, etc., out. Not 100% tight, however.

I would leave it out to let your water heater dry out and if you're concerned about bugs put a piece of tape over the output and put a piece of I put a rubber band over that that way will it will Nable the water heater to dry out that's what I am going to do with mine
