Walked into my 35ROK, after it had been setting closed up for 6 months, and my eyes and throat started burning. My wife came in behind me, and had to go back out immediately. Every thing is turn off, but the smoke alarm went off just as we walked in. Any ideas what this might be, or what would cause this to happen?

If you had it totally closed up without any air circulation (I don't recommend that) it may be that the fabric in furniture or carpet is gassing off causing the irritation. The dyes used do that and are not normally a problem with air circulation.

After doing some research,it appears to be Formaldehyde poisoning. From being closed up tight for 6 months.
