First fifth wheel. 2011 Sandpiper 355qbq?

Hello,

First time poster and new to the 5th wheel market. We have had several travel trailers, but it's time for a fifth wheel. There is a used 2011 Sandpiper 355QBQ for sale locally. It looks great. It appears the 365SAQB model has since replaced this model?

Any feedback on 2011 355QBQ? Known issues/complaints?

I've also been dabbling with the idea of a new Sandpiper from RV wholesalers. Not sure I can bite the bullet on $40,000+. Plus no model is exactly what I want.

380BHS (Like the 5 slides. Don't like that it only has one bathroom)
376BHOK (Like the additional seating and 2 bathrooms. Don't like the setup of the bunkhouse)
365SAQB (Like the bunkhouse setup and 2 bathrooms. Don't like the lack of seating in living area)

Any feedback would be appreciated! Thanks.

I think you can still get the 365saq with the party sofa option. We have the sofa and dinette setup and while it offers limited seating, the kids are usually in the bunkhouse which leaves plenty of room for adults. A new model Sierra/Sandpiper will be coming out shortly, 371rebh. A little different bunkhouse style for a smaller family. The bunkhouse in the Sabre 36qbok-7 is awesome.

I had a 355 for 11 months and traded it for a 365SAQ I still have. Only thing we didn't like about the 355 was the kitchen cabinet on your left as you enter the doorway. My wife didn't like that it blocked the door window while seated in the couch. Petty I know, but I had to agree with her. Other than that, the 355 has the center aisle up into the master. I originally loved it until winter camping and taking showers with the outside temp around 30° or so, the condensation wet everything in the bedroom. My only two complaints. The original 365 just has a flipped around kitchen, side aisle and darker wood. Oh, and 2.5 feet longer. That is the differences between the two models. We had an '11 355 and now have a '12 365... These are still the best floor plans for those of us with kids.

This was one of the bunkhouse ideas I liked on the new sabre model. The picture is a little crappy, but like the table idea. Click image for larger version

Thats the way mine is. We never use it that way though.

Heres a pic of the sabre 36qbok with the superlounge. Roughly the same type of layout as the 365 sandpiper/sierra, but the sabre has a little more finesse to me. We looked at everything out there in the 4 and 5 slide bunkhouses before ordering last February. We couldn't find exaclty what we wanted either, but the sabre had the most of what we wanted.

(We usually only use one table at the bunk end of the living area, and use the ottoman pictured for seating on the kitchen side)
