Help: No power? To Slide Out

Stopped at gas station; put slide out for a minute; got bedroom slide plus a little mid bunk... then power? cut off (or overload?) and there has been NO reset

Am connected to truck power, yet still NO anything (noise/motor/etc) from slide in or out...

Suggestions most appreciated

Notes: is really windy

Note2: jacks won't go down either; it's like the breaker tripped and will not reset

How is this different from the issues detailed in your other thread?

I'm guessing you have tripped one or two circuit breakers, as I have done in the past. These circuit breakers (on my Silverback 5th wheel) are well hidden and not documented in the Forest River manuals. Sorry, it is too complex for me to walk you through.

Attached is a photo. There are 3 breakers located in the nose compartment behind the battery compartment: each is grey with a tiny black button that will click when I push it.

Thank you MR PTaylor... I believe that is my problem... it would appear on my end there is another piece on top of the grey box blocking access to that button

Does this breaker relate in any way to having intermittent power to slides/jacks in cold weather ?

Mr Dan, please delete either and all duplicate threads as necessary

On the pump there is a manual override where you can operate it in case of lost power. I don't recall if it is a phillips head or a hex head bolt style. That way you can run everything in or out manually.

Under the silver sticker and the sticker tells you which way to turn. My sticker says 1/4 drive hex. Click image for larger version

I have tripped one or more of the circuit breakers twice, but cold weather was not a factor either time. Once, I was trying to auto-level on a very un-level site, and I don't recall the other cause.

Mr Dan, seems like TWO completely different threads/topics

1) slides/jacks shorting due to cold weather

2) slides/jacks tripping hidden circuit breakers NOT documented in FR manual

3) Dear MR PT, Unfortunately for me, my breaker did NOT have the reset buttons

Weird questions but, a) did you have power to your lights and other stuff, b) was your truck running or engine/key off but still attached and c) did you get back on the road and what got it fixed?

If you had no power to anything else your batteries were dead and even if you did they could be depleted beyond being able to operate the slides and jacks. Out of curiosity did you put the jacks partially down on purpose? Our level up system is outside by the water control center while our slides operate from the indoor control center. There would be no mix up of hitting the wrong switch.

Just because your truck is hooked up doesn't mean that it is supplying power to the rig. The engine has to be running as well. This is a safety feature in newer trucks that keeps the trailer from killing the TV's battery while parked.

Have 110 power; had power from truck running; voltage meter says batteries are good & power going to jacks/slides good

jacks are all up (not sure about that question); bedroom Slide is out & mid bunk started going out an inch ish and then nothing... it seems like as Mr PR mentioned a hidden breaker tripped (but I don't have the reset button on the hidden breakers)

am NOT back on the road; nothing is Fixed; service tech coming hopefully in a (couple) hour or so

ps: i tried turning that manual override but didn't get any response

I could be wrong on both these, but I THINK that the power-with-truck-running is only for Fords. And my trailer, and many, have two slide power switches......one inside and one close to the Level Up module.

So you're still at the gas station? So sorry. At least they let you hook up to "110 power".

I've checked my breakers several times and never found the reset switch, they always reset on their own. I didn't go back and check this thread, maybe I got confused about the jacks. Did you check to make sure your wiring was connected and tight at the pump and breakers. You can have power via the meter but if it isn't tight you may not be getting the amps it needs.

How did you try the manual override? I believe it will go extremely slow unless you have something like a drill turning it. Slow as in you won't notice movement until you've turned it A LOT!!!

That really stinks you're still stuck there.

I know for a fact that's how it is on Fords, I have a couple of them right now. I can't say as to everyone else, I only drive Fords but I thought someone told me that's how they all were. Good to know on the slide switches. I hadn't seen that before. I'll double check mine but it isn't obvious. And if you listen to my wife I can't find ANYTHING ever!!! LOL!

X2 on manual override. It will work, just very very slow and painful. You are essentially turning a pump that moves fluid by hand.
How are you measuring batteries when you say they are good. You can not go by the lights on the inside panel as that will show full when you are connected to shore power even if your battery is dead.
In cold weather, the converter will need extra power from the battery to operate slide pumps. If batteries are weak it could cause slides to not operate.
If you have a meter, you can check the continuity through the breakers to determine if they are tripped. You can also measure the voltage on the output side of the breaker ( or input side of pump) when the slide switch is operated. In cold weather it needs to be pretty close to full power to run the pump.

X3 on the manual override. I turned it for about 5 minutes and saw no movement. I then called a different technician, and he walked me through the circuit breaker re-set to solve my problem.

X4 on the manual overide.
Some use a cordless drill (if space is available) with a 1/4" drive adapter to turn the pump motor in cases of emergency.
