HitchHiker to Sandpiper?

New to the forum, first post. We have a 1998 Hitch HikerII 32 RKBGBW. It has been in our family since new, stored inside except when being used. We spend three months in the Rio Grand Valley TX. We have two slides. We are looking for more ceiling height. I am 6'3" and need more headroom.

We found a Sandpiper 356RL. It is nearly 6' longer and a foot and half taller. It is about 500# heavier. We tow with a 2008 Chev 2500HD DA.

We priced a Hitch Hiker Discover America with four slides. They wanted $55,000 difference! I can buy the Sandpiper for $35,900 straight out. Whats the deal? I know that NuWay is a higher-end company. Is the build quality that much different?
