Suspension Upgrade and Pin Box

Has anyone up graded their suspension and their pin box for a smoother ride? Mor/ ryde pin box or trail air? Looking to make my rig worth keeping for a while, because it didn't come from the factory worth keeping.

What are you towing with now and what pin box do you have?

You can use an aftermarket pin box to isolate trailer from truck and vice versa or you can tame a rough riding trailer with Mor/ryde IS or a lesser solution like their RS or equivalent. The one trailer of mine that was problematic only needed the IS, I have never felt the need for a pin box change.

My factory suspension is the MorRyde CRE3000 and it seems to be ok. Only thing that could improve it would be going to either Independent Suspension or perhaps adding the Shock Kit but to me neither of those are really worth the money for how much we are traveling. The pinbox and hitch is another story.

Started out with the Andersen Ultimate II hitch and an LCI 1621 standard pinbox. The ride was great and chucking was rare. FR upgraded my pinbox to the MorRyde Rubber Pin Box (their dime, the original PB wasn't rated heavy enough) and I noticed a smoother ride on the rough freeways and bridge joints. Before they didn't chuck but you could feel the slight hits as you went over them. Now with the MorRyde RPB the hits are less noticeable. I mentioned this to my contact at Andersen and he said that they've had enough feedback to now say that the combination of Andersen Ultimate and MorRyde RPB is the best ride combo.

Talking Pin box

I have a 2017 Cedar Creek Silverback 35IK and tow with a 2014 Ram 2500 Cummins with air bags. When I bought the fifth wheel it had a lot of chucking motion on rough roads. I ordered a MorRyde pin box and installed it, and it took out a lot of that chucking. It will not take all but a lot. Hope this will help and happy trails.

I upgraded the suspension on my Cardinal TT with the Mor-Ryde 4000, Mor-Ryde wet bolt kit and the Mor-Ryde X-Factor cross braces, really helped the ride of the trailer. Now that I have a 5th wheel I'm planning on going with the Lippert Trailair air pin box to smooth out the truck-trailer connection, a lot of our club members have them and they say it really smooths out the ride.

I have the Dexter EZ-Flex which I'm very happy with, but it needs to be greased every 600 mls. - 1000 mls. or so, TrailAir 21k pinbox, Andersen Ultimate 5th wheel hitch and Firestone airbags on the truck.
This combination gives me a very smooth ride and zero chucking, in fact I like this suspension better than the MorRyde IS we used to have on our previous 5th wheel.
