Trailer options on Sandpiper

I bought a 2019 Sandpiper 38FKOK and wanted to either pull a trailer or attach a swivel wheel cart to the rear to take our golfcart along. It didn’t come with a Reese hitch and when I contacted Lippert the guy told me if I have a hitch installed it would void my warranty but never replied with a suggestion or alternative solution. I figured he would at least offer a solution even if I had to pay for it but he didn’t. Does anyone here have a suggestion or alternative way you have found to accomplish this without disrupting the warranty? My wife recently had both hips replaced and I need a way to take the cart or her scooter with us. Thanks

1) its illegal in many states to pull a trailer attached to your fifth wheel. check your local laws

2) Lippert doesn't recommend that you attach a hitch, therefore, they will not recommend one

You may have been luck with Lippert if you call them. Their telephone customer service is usually quite helpful. But as Mountndream said, this is something that does likely void their warranty and they might not be willing to discuss at all. Doesn't hurt to make the phone call, though.

Double-towing (aka triple towing) is not legal in most eastern coastal states. But once you get away from the coast it is legal.

The legality of the swivel wheel attachment like an Idaho Tote is questionable. They claim it's not a trailer (i.e. it's an extension of the frame) and is allowed even where double-towing isn't. I think they give you a paper to show to police or whatever if you ever get stopped (which is usually very unlikely).

And lastly, I'll say that I recall a case here on FRF. Someone was all proud of their home-built tote behind their Sabre fifth wheel. 3-6 months later, they posted an angry post that Sabre was denying warranty coverage when their frame buckled between the axles. I have no idea if one caused the other or not. But it was enough to make me go "hmm".
