2017 sierra 372lok cooling problems

I purchased a Serra 372lok last June and the a/c has never worked properly. Dealer has swapped out ac and also cut a bigger return in the ceiling. An example today it was85 outside and camper would only go to 78 with thermostat on 72. Bedroom air does fine. Anyone else having the same problem

Search the Sandpiper and Sierra boards. Common problem they won't fix. Lots of guys add a 3rd a/c. I will soon, I just haven't had time to do it.

Yes here. Use the search once you pull up the specific section. Start with these:

Brad is pretty much the pioneer and most of us followed his thread and process. It's in the links above but I want to point this one out specifically.

I read the one about adding a third air and have no problem doing that if it possible on my model

Most likely it is. I know of 3 or 4 different units it will have been done to including mine. I know based on Brad's description it will work on mine. I've looked mine over pretty good trying to figure out what the problem is.

There is definitely an issue with the whisper quiet units in the 2017 year model Sandpiper and Sierra trailers. The intake duct is too small for the A/C. The intake vents are perfectly fine, but the duct leading back to the center is sandwiched down to about a quarter inch. I had a Dometic refit kit installed. It doubled the air flow on my four living area vents. The kit includes adding a 3rd intake in the center of the ceiling directly beneath the A/C and adding a couple louvered A/C vents in the forward section of the trailer to control air flow.

It helped, but it didn't magically enable me to sit comfortably in 100 degree temps. I have the 371REBH and figure it has the most windows for the year model and greatest length putting the A/C's at a disadvantage compared to smaller floor plans. My temp. difference on a hot day is about 12 degrees. I'm certain that a lot of it has to do with the temperature of the roof and the fact that the A/C units are covered in a black casing.

Noise level increased, so it's now about 50% quieter than the Brisk II rather than 90 due to additional intake noise.

We camped in 97 deg weather and with kids goin in and out it wouldn't keep up, until i open the vent and had it blow out the unit. That and gone for a few hours it shut off for a little bit. Not ideal but works on our 372LOK.

I added a 3rd a/c to my 372LOK myself. We camped at the beach all summer and had no cooling problems. 72 inside during the was not a problem. VERY satisfied with the results i fought with Forrest river for 11 months just took matters into my own hands

I have the same camper in the year model 2018. Did you add the 3rd unit to the skylight in the kitchen? What about the bunk room? The bunk room is my warmest room and won't cool to my satisfaction even at night.

I added it In the skylight over the couch. It helped a little in the bunk room. I wish I knew what to do about that.

In the 2017 models, they installed the whisper quiet midship over the kitchen, but then I saw in a friends model for 2018, they did away with the whisper quiet and went to the Brisk II which is the same as the bedroom A/C and moved it to the back over the sofa.

Did you integrate the 3rd A/C into the main thermostat controller with a 3rd zone? I was told about how to setup the electric so that all 3 would work off the 50amp, but I've forgotten the details on it. Otherwise, I've heard that only 2 units can run simultaneously.

All 3 are wired to the thermostat and all 3 run with no problems

You're right. Mine is a 2018 and I have the brisk ll over the sofa in the back. There's a skylight in the kitchen. Surely there's something that would make it cool better.

Is there any pre-wiring at the skylight for the 3rd A/C? I'm curious how much effort was involved in getting the 3rd unit connected to power and tied in with the primary thermostat. Is there an additional thermistor to install similar to the bedroom unit?

My dealer mentioned I should add a 3rd in my rear skylight on my 371REBH, but I was imagining it would mean manual controls at the unit similar to what you see in small coaches.

Are the 372 pre wired for a third AC or do you have to run power to it
