5er Tires

I know this is a loaded question, however I’m gonna ask for opinions anyway. We have a 384BQOK. Roughly 14k when loaded plus or minus a few hundred pounds. It came with the “China Bombs” and I’m looking into replacements for early spring. I have read several discussions where different ones make their case for this brand or that brand and ST vs. LT. My 5er has ST235/85/16’s that are 12 ply load range F.
I talked to my local tire dealer that I have felt with my whole life which tire he would recommend and he recommended Hercules. Same size and load rating. These are made by Cooper. My tire guy actually runs these on his Race Car trailer.
They are not cheaper but are manufactured by an American owned company. So my questions are.
1) Does anyone have any experience with Hercules tires?
2) Since my camper came with STs originally, I would assume that is what I should go back with.
3) Safe assumption also to go back with the same size/rating?

i have hercules h901 which are 14 ply load range G. i have no experience with the 12 ply load range F.

what follows is just opinion, not a recommendation..
i would stay with ST tires of the same size. in my research ST tires have a higher load range than LT tires of the same size.
i believe goodyear just bought cooper tires.
my cooper hercules h901 tires were made in thailand.
i'd get the specs for the recommended tires and just verify that they will meet your needs. not saying the tire guy is wrong, just verify.

I would stay with ST tires. I have a similar 14K fiver and am running Carlisle Radial Trail HD LR F tires and they have proven to be excellent over several seasons now.

LT tires are not a good option. I tried them
on a 13,000# fiver and since the sidewalls do not flex as easily as ST tires, I cracked three of my aluminum rims and had the replace them with steel rims. PITA.
I ended up with LR G tires and got great service from them.
