Bought mystery 1997 Sierra travel trailer

First time campers...bought a used 1997 Sierra travel trailer that's about 18 feet long. Had the original title from the man we bought it from, which didn't have a model number on it, just the year and VIN. We have scoured the trailer and the tow assembly up front and can't find anything that has a model number. I looked on the NADA charts, and for that year, it doesn't even show a Sierra travel trailer smaller than 25 feet. We had no problem registering it without a model number, but would like to know the model number in the event we need parts sometime. Does anyone else have a smaller, older, Sierra travel trailer and know where the model number can be found?

Thanks!...We're off on our very first camping overnight at Aspenglen Campground in Rocky Mountain National Park this Thursday night. It's less than an hour from our home as we figured the first time out we'd better stay kind of close!

If you have the accurate lenght from trailer hitch to the back bumper will help.
Take some pictures and let us see. Maybe someone can tell you more.

You need not worry about parts, as anything specific to that camper probably wouldn't be available anyway. And most camper parts are generic, very similar from one manufacturer to another.
If you ever need anything, just "google" it on the internet.

Thanks...I will get a proper measurement of the camper and post some photos. So glad I found this forum...I bet we'll have more questions after our first trip. We did get a couple of generic RV books and are pretty good Internet searchers, but sometimes the only way to get an answer is to "ask the panel" :-)

I thought I was being really clever when we bought the camper because i recorded video of the man we purchased it from explaining how stuff worked, but there were still a couple things we forgot (or didn't know) to ask him about. What was great about what we DID record was that he kind of explained the normal operating behavior for this particular camper.

Yes video taping was a super idea. I did that with my motorhone as well as previous trailers. This Forum has lots of knowledge from many folks who are willing to share. If you do have any specific questions on your equipment if you can take a photo of it which will helps understand what you are talking about.

Our 1997 camper (isn't it cute?) measures 19.5 feet from the back of the rear bumper to the front of the hitch. The body of the camper itself is around 16.5 feet. Any ideas about the model? If not, at least you can see how our dogs are already enjoying the camper. One of the main reasons for getting the camper is so we can take them along! Two more nights until our first night camping in Rocky Mountain National Park!

did you look inside cupboard doors ?

you must have a vin right ?
with the vin and a call to forest river you should be able to get all the details !

We opened and shut all the doors quickly while we were looking at it to test them out but I didn't search for a sticker there...will look today...thanks!

We do have a VIN, and it's on the title. I will try calling Forest River and see if they can help.

My last 3 campers had an info sticker located on the back side of a cupboard door. "Fingers crossed "

Where are you located? I do know FR has plants in the east and the west. Each plant makes different models specific to the region.

We live in Loveland, Colorado. The camper was originally titled in Colorado, but not sure where it was made.

Try searching for west coast versions. Might find it there.

I found the info sticker on my 1997 FR Wildwood on the left cabinet door above the sink.

Looks cute and the dogs are ready to go!!
