Electrical problems

i had posted earlier about a problem with my converter. I replaced it and it works fine. One thing i didn't mention before is on June 29th we were staying at an Rv Park in St. Joe Missouri. Woke up in the middle of the night noticing the air conditioner had kicked off. Found out the refrigerator, electric fireplace, microwave, a floor fan, clock, and a coffee pot were all inoperable. The coffee pot smelled like burnt plastic. I have an expensive surge protector that didn't trip. Called the camp manager and she said no other problems had been reported. After this the air conditioning worked fine and the rest of the trip I just kept a charged battery online (by rotating one in every day and a half). Now that I am home I replaced the microwave and noticed it was heating up. So I unplugged it and checked all the breakers and none were tripped. Anybody have any ideas?

My first thought is "Was the 'surge protector' just that only? Or was it an EMS system"? If not an EMS, I'd get one tomorrow.

Then you'd know a lot more info.

I'm at a friends place staying at his full hookup outside. I have already had power kick off due to Low Voltage. We are baffled why it happened but maybe just a glitch in the local power grid. But my EMS knew, and saved my appliances.
