Mystery Valve and Emergency Window Repair

I own a Sierra 378FB. Two items, please: 1) There is a valve located in my water service area and I don't know what it is for. It's located on the bottom, right side of the water service area. Any ideas? Should that valve be open or closed when I winterize my unit? 2) How do I replace the red plastic latches on my emergency egress windows that have broken? Any assistance will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Welcome to the forum.

A picture of the water service area would help.
I've no idea where to get replacement red tabs. Sorry.

I see this is your 1st post, welcome!

Every R/V is plumbed and set up differently and as such, not all R/Vs have the same thing(s) even across like models.

As mentioned, a photo of the valve you are referring to would help immensely, otherwise we are just guessing.

I have never seen the red plastic tabs on the exit windows offered separately.
There are certainly generic tabs that could be used,
Something like this...

I see you posted the image as I was typing.
Is this a new unit?

It could be a drain valve but unless someone might have your exact same model it will be hard for us to say without knowing where the other ends of those plumbing lines go.

Is there no label close by?
If new, did your dealer not go over this with you?
They should be your 1st line of contact.

Looks like the drain valve for the fresh water tank. Open it slightly, if you see water dropping below the unit, you'll know this is it. I leave mine close during Winter after I've put a bit of anti-freeze in the tank.

RV antifreeze in the fresh water tank?
That might not be the best idea because the taste is almost impossible to get rid of. Drain the tank for the winter. Even if the small bit left in the tank freezes, there is enough room for expansion in the tank so that it won't damage the tank.

We never drink from the fresh water tank so it's not an issue for us, we only use this tank for toilet and sink while away from city water.
